  • 1. What is DermCheck App?

    DermCheck App is a Dermatology Marketplace that enables patients to send photos of their skin conditions to U.S. Dermatologists for evaluation. Dermatologists perform virtual consultations based on patient photos and medical history, and offers customized treatment plans. If prescriptions are needed, they are sent electronically to pharmacies. Our mission is to bring patients and doctors together.

  • 2. How much does it cost to join?

    For a limited time, it's free. There are no fees for Dermatologists to join DermCheck App.

  • 3. How does DermCheck App work?

    End Users take photos of their skin conditions, such as acne, and submit them via the DermCheck App Platform, a platform which is fully encrypted and HIPAA compliant. During the submission process, they choose a Dermatologist who they want to evaluate their inquiry. The Dermatologist selected will receive an email notification regarding the new inquiry. He or she will then log onto the secure DermCheck App Physician Portal, review the images along with the medical history, and recommend a treatment plan.

  • 4. What are the requirements to be part of DermCheck App?

    You must be a Dermatologist or a Dermatology Resident PGY 3 or PGY 4. You must be familiar with the areas of practice, ie acne, dandruff etc.. You must hold an active license in your state and be in good standing. A Telemdicine insurance policy is included at no extra charge for every physician that joins the DermCheck App Platform.

  • 5. Can I use DermCheck App to read images for another site?

    No. The DermCheck App's telemedicine insurance policy only covers the work performed on the DermCheck App Platform and no other platforms, virtual, or brick and mortar medical offices.

  • 7. How do I get paid?

    You will get paid as an Independent Contractor at the end of every month. A check is mailed to you. As a Health Counselor on the DermCheck App Platform, you will get paid $30 per consultation. At the end of every month, the number of consultations are added up and a check is mailed.

  • 8. Can I answer inquires by End Users from a different state?

    No. You can perform virtual consultations only in the state that you are currently licensed to practice.

  • 9. Are there any states that prevent me from joining DermCheck App as a Dermatologist?

    Yes. The laws regarding Telemedicine vary from state to state. There are states that have complicated laws regarding the practice of Telemedicine. The technology that we are using is called Store and Forward technology. As of now, the following states do not allow physicians to join DermCheck App Platform. As laws change, we will update this list.

  • 10. How do I get notified about an inquiry or consultation?

    Once an end user selects you as the consulting physician, you will get an email that an inquiry has been submitted. You then log onto the website and click on the inquiry. All inquiries must be answered within 24 hours.

  • 11. Do I need to submit anything to insurance companies?

    No. There are no insurance companies involved. There is no need to contract with any insurance companies either. You will receive $30 for each consultation performed.

  • 12. Does DermCheck App accept insurance?

    No.

  • 13. How much do I get paid for answering the virtual consultation?

    $30 per inquiry/consultation.

  • 14. Can I make money by being a Health Counselor on the DermCheck App?

    Yes. Typically, a consultation on the DermCheck App takes less than 3 to 5 minutes to complete. In a 15 minute interval, you can respond to 3 to 5 consultations, thus profiting $150 for a 15 minute interval without the headaches of submitting bills to insurance carriers and worrying about overhead and staff.

  • 15. What are the criteria used for my name to show up on the Doctor's Directory?

    The Doctors Directory lists physicians upon several factors, such as geographical location to the End User submitting the inquiry, your reviews, and response time.

  • 16. How long do I have to answer inquiries?

    Each Health Counselor has 24 hours to respond to an inquiry. In other words, you should answer an inquiry within 24 hours.

  • 17. What is Response Time?

    Response time is the time that it takes for the Health Counselor to respond to an inquiry. Every time you perform a consultation on the DermCheck App Platform, the system keeps track and calculates a response time. The response time is displayed next to the reviews for each individual Health Counselor on the DermCheck App Platform. The response time is used by the End Users to select the Health Counselor they want to answer their inquiry.

  • 18. What if I am on vacation, can I turn my Health Counselor profile off?

    Yes.

  • 19. Does the system punish me for late responses?

    Yes. Individuals with longer response time will show up lower on the Doctor's Directory. If several days elapse and there is no response, DermCheck App Platform will remove the inquiry from your list.

  • 20. What paperwork do I need to join DermCheck App?

    There is a Physician Employment Contract, 1099 form, HIPAA Compliance form and a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

  • 21. Do I need an active Medical License to join DermCheck App?

    Yes.

  • 22. Do I need to be a Dermatologist to join DermCheck App?

    Yes. Non-dermatologist can not join the platform, sorry.
